From the desk of Victor Pride
Subj: Book Schedules, Perfectionism, Plans & More
Machiavelli once said the future is 50% will and 50% fate. Rather than trying to always foresee the future in order to prepare for it, you must boldly shape it.
That’s exactly what I’m doing right now, boldly shaping the future of B&D and Victor Pride. And it requires some intense, intense focus.
What I’m doing right now is nothing but work. I don’t have hobbies, I don’t play games, I don’t go out to restaurants. I work. I do nothing but work.
Why? I’m playing catch up (sort of) but more importantly, I’m building the future.
Much of my recent work has been centered around getting rid of distractions.
Distractions are the killer of productivity. Thankfully I do have the solution…
A Lot Can Happen In 6 Months
There’s a whole lot you can do in 6 months. You could get enough work done in 6 months to last you years and years and years.
That’s exactly what I’m doing right now: the work of a lifetime.
I have remarked before that I had a 6 month period in 2012 that was integral to the success of B&D.
I can quite literally trace my success back to a hardcore 6 month period where all I did was work.
The work I accomplished in those 6 months was the catalyst for everything I have in my life right now. But…..
As many astute readers may have ascertained, I was suffering from an affliction in 2015 (earlier as well) that made me chronically fatigued.
Unfortunately for the die-hard readers of B&D, during this time you were left without the content you should have had. I wanted to write, I tried so hard, but I literally couldn’t.
I have the answers as to why this happened, but let me just say I believe this “syndrome” was 50% mental and 50% environmental. It was 50% real and 50% feel.
So what was it? What happened?
Soon I will give you all of the information, but right now I’ll keep it brief. I had to take action to recover, and I did.
You will be able to read all about it very soon, and you will have the answer to increased productivity, creativity and most important of all more energy.
I have too much to say. So rather than putting all of the information in blog posts, I am writing the definitive book on increasing energy, tentatively called High Energy Entrepreneur.
C’mon Vic, Another Book Announcement?! We Still Don’t Have New World Ronin.
Boys, boys, boys – listen: all good things to those who wait.
I know it sound crazy to introduce another book when the last one I introduced hasn’t been released yet, and here’s my answer to that: so what.
I follow a very rigid but very fluid model of thinking and of business…
Plan Ahead But Don’t Overthink (Be Like Water)
Business plans are a lot like water, they constantly change and flow, which is why I don’t often talk about my plans.
Plans are great and very necessary but if you don’t change with the flow, you get left behind.
So I plan things out meticulously, but when things change, things change. This is a big reason why I advocate not telling people what your plans are — because plans can change in an instant.
I don’t behold myself to any past plans if I have new information or new knowledge that needs to get out.
And the knowledge I am putting in the High Energy book HAS TO get out.
People are suffering with low energy, low brain capacity and low productivity… when it can be fixed!
This High Energy book will help them immensely. They need the answer and I’ll give it to them.
Upcoming B&D Book Schedule:
3 Books Dropping Soon
I actually have 3 new books coming out soon.
- Each book is a “real” book that you will be able to purchase on Amazon in either a kindle (ebook format) or as a paperback book.
- For each book you will also have the option to purchase a PDF version if you so choose.
These are the 3 books that are coming soon from Victor Pride…
(This is simply a taste of what is to come. I will provide additional information about each book at the appropriate time).
1. Bold & Determined: Get Up Off Your Ass, Enjoy Your Life, And Get Out Of The 9-5 Jive Forever.
This book is a collection of the best blog articles from the beginning of B&D to the end of 2014.
This collection if writing is, in my humble opinion, one of the best collections of writing anywhere, ever.
The B&D book will be released soon and will be available for purchase on Amazon as an ebook and as a paperback book.
When will the B&D book be released? Very soon.
2. High Energy Entrepreneur: The Only Book You Will Ever Need To Increase Energy, Focus And Creativity
This book is going to be as much of a life-changer for people who can’t figure out how to properly manage their energy, and instead get nowhere.
I was there before, and I know the actual way to get out of it. High Energy Entrepreneur will not just be a game-changer, it will be a literal life changer.
This book is quite possibly my most important work to date.
High Energy Entrepreneur will be available for purchase soon (probably in November). It will be available as an ebook and as a paperback book.
3. New World Ronin
Yes, I am again pushing back the release of New World Ronin. What I have planned for Ronin is special and it takes time, so pretty please be patient.
“You must be patient because all great things happen right away” -Victor Pride
When N.W.R. drops you will have the real knowledge and power that hasn’t been given to you yet here on B&D.
When will New World Ronin be released? New World Ronin will probably be available in March.
How will New World Ronin look? New World Ronin will be a very different book than you’re used to.
Right now, I cannot tell you the actual presentation it will take (ebook, paperback, or 3rd option) all I can say is that the presentation will be superb and worth the wait.
The Future Of Bold & Determined And The End Of Perfectionism
Readers may assume that since I am hard at work on these books that I will not be posting much on B&D, but that is incorrect.
You can expect at least one post every single week and more likely you can expect two posts every single week.
I told you my affliction was 50% mental and I wasn’t lying.
Long time readers know that I am (was) a perfectionist. Perfectionism is neither a good thing nor a bad thing, it can produce both greatness and it can produce absolutely nothing.
The first four years of B&D were perfect in my eyes (which is why they are being immortalized in the B&D book).
But true perfection came at a cost and you’ll soon see why perfectionism was a big reason for my “affliction”.
At that time, I actually felt that anything I added to Bold & Determined would actually take away from the perfection of the first four years.
I didn’t want to ruin greatness so I was extremely hesitant to post any new articles.
Imagine my non-surprise when I recently learned what psychology had to say about perfectionism.
Perfectionism, in psychology, is a belief that a state of completeness and flawlessness can and should be attained. In its pathological form, perfectionism is a belief that work or output that is anything less than perfect is unacceptable.
Burns defines perfectionists as “people who strain compulsively and unremittingly toward impossible goals and who measure their own worth entirely in terms of productivity and accomplishment”.
In the workplace, perfectionism is often marked by low productivity as individuals lose time and energy on attention to detail and small irrelevant details of larger projects or mundane daily activities.
Adderholt-Elliot describes five characteristics of perfectionist students and teachers which contribute to underachievement: procrastination, fear of failure, the all-or-nothing mindset, paralyzed perfectionism, and workaholism.
Thankfully you can simply decide to stop having any hang-ups or “mental disorders” and just go about your day, fresh and free like you should be.
Long before I had this information, I’d had a revelation and realized I can no longer strive to make each article perfect because when that happens, no articles come out for weeks at a time.
I recognized what a gigantic hinderance perfectionism was and I simply changed my mind and decided to publish whatever I want to publish.
Perfectionism served me well for a time, and then it didn’t serve me at all after that, so I made the necessary mental adjustments.
My new goal is this: to simply give you all of the information that you need. I will be posting whatever I want to post with no regards to anything else.
I will get the information to you and that’s all there is to it. There will be no more breaks in action and that’s a guarantee.
Note: Don’t put too much worry into whether or not you have “mental disorders.”
In my opinion, mental disorders like perfectionism and narcissism can be harshly negative, but they can also be blueprints to success.
People with these “mental disorders” are willing to go right to the edge and beyond to create great work. Normal people aren’t.
Normal people don’t have mental disorders but they also don’t have anything worth coveting so who cares.
I got a lot out of perfectionism… until I didn’t. At which point, I made a change.
The trick is to take what you need from each “disorder” and create your own success.
How To Create Your Own Success
Many of my readers think I moved from Asia because I “made it” which is wrong. I made it before I ever even left America.
I came back because it’s too damn hot over there. Give me good weather and I never would have left.
That being said, I’m very glad I left and I could not be happier with where I live. I’m very comfortable here in my dojo.
If you pay close attention, you’ll notice a theme coming soon… you need to be comfortable to create.
Right now, I’m as comfortable as can be and that’s one reason why my productivity has been able to skyrocket.
If you want to increase productivity now, remember that one tip: You need to be comfortable to create.
I’m as comfortable as could be and you’ll see the proof in my words very, very soon so stay tuned.
Until next time.
