They say health is wealth but they're wrong. Health isn't wealth, only wealth is wealth.
So what is health? You know what the hippies say: Health is life, man.
Without health, you don't have life. Money can buy a lot of great things but it cannot buy life.
Fortunately you do not need money to buy health, you simply need to be proactive and make sure you develop these 9 healthy habits to get healthy, stay healthy, and live like a true king in 2017 (aka two thousand and victory).
1. Breathe like the fat-bellied Buddha
Oxygen is the #1 source of life for humans. If you don't breathe oxygen for two minutes, you die. Unfortunately for most people, they do breathe every two minutes but what they do not do is breathe deeply.
Most adults breathe through their chest. The proper way to breathe is through your diaphragm, aka your stomach. That way you fill up the entirety of the lungs with oxygen.
When you do not breathe deep into the belly like the Buddha, you do not get enough oxygen. This is called shallow breathing, and the symptoms include: pain, anxiety, fever, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms, snoring and chest pain. Other coexisting symptoms may include very low blood pressure or hypotension, fatigue, weakness, strider, wheezing, paleness, blueness of the skin.
Shallow breathing leads to low oxygen levels, which is called hypoxia. The symptoms of hypoxia include:
- Fatigue or tiredness
- Breathlessness or shortness of breath
- Light headedness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Skin and nail beds may turn bluish, a condition called cyanosis.
- Euphoria or sensation of dissociation from self
- Confusion, memory loss and cognitive problems
- Disorientation and uncoordinated movement
To be healthy you must breathe deeply, not lightly. How to breathe deeply: Fill up your belly big with air, like the fat Buddha. That's the way you know you're breathing deeply.
Here is a good resource for learning how to breathe: Breathe Deeply, Live Longer
2. Stand up and walk more
I've switched from sitting most of the time to standing most of the time and it has made a huge impact on my health (for the better).
Sitting all day is one of the worst things you can do for your body. If you can spend a good part of your day standing, do it. Buy a standing desk or simply make a standing desk out of common household items like dressers and kitchen counters.
If you must sit down for work, at least get up once every hour and walk for 5-10 minutes. If you are forced to sit for your job, get up 10 minutes every hour and just pace.
Wherever you are, if you're in an office, you're at home, whatever, just pace, just walk back and forth because it is imperative to your health and well-being to move your body.
3. Speak like a man, not like a mouse
The only way you get what you want is to say what you want. If you don't say what you want, or if you speak quietly like a mouse, it will eat you up inside.
Many men are afraid of speaking of what they want. Those men are called cowards, but cowards can become killers if they want to. The two ways to speak loud and proud are: 1) Make sure your body has enough testosterone and 2) Learn to speak well.
Speaking of learning to speak well, anyone can learn to speak well, anyone can develop and refine their message, and anyone can have profound revelations about their purpose in life simply by following this 3-step plan:
- Start a blog with Badnet
- Record yourself speaking aloud for 20 minutes each day
- Listen back to the recording and use the best bits as “journal entries” on your blog. The “best bits” will become your clearly refined message and/or purpose.
The accumulated knowledge you get by speaking the answers aloud and recording them each day will give you a clearer understanding of your mission and of your purpose in life.
4. Gain perspective and practice abundance
I lived in Asia for a few years and you know what I learned? Life is hard outside of the west. Our lives are tremendously easy, tremendously fantastic.
We have so much abundance that just simply doesn't exist in many other parts of the world. We have the best of the best. But there is one thing westerners lack, and that one thing is appreciation.
Westerners lack appreciation for the incredible ease of life because many of them do now know what the rest of the world lives like (shit). Appreciation is missing from most.
A life without appreciation for greatness is a life without health.
The easiest way to gain an appreciation for what you have, is to take it away and experience what life is like in other parts of the world.
Travel will give you perspective on what life would really be like if we didn't have all the modern conveniences we have now.
Imagine if we didn't have toilets, imagine if we didn't have dishwashers, imagine if we didn't have running water, imagine how bad everybody would smell, imagine how awful the place would stink.
You just imagined much of the world.
Like the song says, “you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone” – so take it away and gain perspective by doing some traveling.
5. Get respect from others by respecting yourself first
Self‑respect is the #1 quality that other people respect in you. People only respect a person who first respects himself or herself.
So how do you gain self-respect? The best way to gain respect is to be respectable and to have an aura of respectability. You build an aura of respectability by following the blueprint that has been thoughtfully laid out by me.
The way of self-respect is laid out in the teachings of Bold and Determined. Read every word, put into practice the teachings and respect will simply come to you as a by-product. Easy peasy, Japaneasy.
6. Learn to be ambitious because work is purpose
A life lived without purpose is a wasted life. How do you live with purpose? As any ronin knows, purpose comes from work. You can be born for greatness, sure, but there's another way…
People can learn things, can they not? Why can you not learn how to be a go‑getter?
Learn to be great, learn to be ambitious, and learn to hustle.
If you can learn to do math, if you can learn to go to college, if you can learn to get a job, why can you not learn to hustle? Answer: If you can learn social studies from professor dipshit, you can learn ambition and hustle from professor Victor.
How do you do it? You simply make yourself become bold and determined.
YOU MAKE YOURSELF.
You don't spend your time being discouraged, because if you spend your time being discouraged, you won't find the time to discover courage.
You simply make yourself discover and develop courage. If you allow yourself to get discouraged you allow yourself to be disrespected by yourself.
7. Ignore the haters and hungry ghosts
When you get hate mail online, people don't actually hate you, they are projecting their fears, they are projecting their concerns, and they are projecting their worries about themselves on to you. You become a target for their insecurity. This happens to me every single day and I simply ignore it.
When you run across a hater online, and they say something to you, what they are really doing is talking to themselves through a proxy, which is you. They are talking to themselves about themselves. They are simply aiming it at you so they don't have to confront the truth about themselves.
If you're dealing with a hungry ghost in the flesh, simply look them right in the eyes and tell them: “You're not talking about me, you're talking about you. You are projecting on to me. Those are your concerns. You are concerned that you feel that way that, that you are that way. Don't talk to me that way.”
8. Be a bright light in a dim room
Most people live life in black and white, and you can see it in their dim eyes. You can see it when you go out to see a movie or when you go out to any place where there's a group of people.
Look at all the normal people, and they seem so black and white, like there's just no life in them. They're all doing the same thing, they're all dressed the same way and they're all acting the same way.
It's like they're just not turned on, like they have a light switch and the light switch is just turned off. And then somebody comes in the room who's full of life, and that person's aura just lights up the room.
Be the person who lights up the room, don't be one of the grey ghosts. Be the bright, shining star because the bright shining star gives hope to the dim bulbs.
Be a guiding light for those living in the dark.
The way that you help a depressed or moody family member is to simply be a guiding light for them. Be a guiding light for them. People will come out of depression on their own terms. People will stop being moody on their own terms. People will have revelations on their own terms.
You cannot FORCE somebody out of a depression. You cannot FORCE somebody to stop being moody. What you can do is be a model of success for that person and plant seeds in their mind of positivity, plant seeds in their mind of happiness.
And let them see you, and just plant seeds that let them know anybody can be happy, anybody can be positive. They will come to that revelation on their own terms.
They will feel that they came up with that revelation if you simply plant these seeds in the mind, anybody can be happy, anybody can stop being depressed, anybody can live life on their own terms, anybody can stop being moody.
If you simply plant those seeds casually and be the model of success, they will eventually have the revelation that happiness is a choice and depression is a choice.
So you simply plant the seeds, be the model, and wait it out. You must have patience. Why? Because people will have revelations on their own terms, not on your terms, on their own terms.
9. Live for a purpose
This is a comment I got from a man of the B&D: “Over the past seven years I have transformed from a weak and worthless drug addict into a strong and happy young man. Your B&D work helped me greatly, so I must thank you. Do you have any advice for those lost souls out there looking to make major life changes and find a purpose?”
Yes, I do. New World Ronin is for lost souls who are looking for purpose. New World Ronin is for lost souls who want to make a life change and find a true purpose… even if they don't know it.
